Featured Author: Keith Parfitt

Keith Parfitt has worked in the Human Services in various capacities for a combination of over 30 years. He began as a 91B10 Medical Specialist at 45th Field Hospital at Camp Darby in Italy. After his return from overseas he continued his work in a local psychiatric center in N.Y. State. He worked in various areas to include admissions and geriatrics.

Keith then landed employment as a Stock and Bond Broker for an independent firm where he was employed for 5 years. Compelled to return to the Human Services field Keith began work in a residential setting at several different not-for-profit agencies with multi-mentally handicapped adults.

In 2003 Keith was inspired to pen his first novel, We Live on the Same Road. At that time Keith’s experience had been with direct care. He then migrated to the vocational field and continues to assist individuals with special needs in acquiring employment in the community.

Keith hopes that any who read this work, will take a different perspective the next time they come in contact with someone of special needs. After all, we are more alike than we are different.
